Rain gutter regatta
Friday, October 27th, 2006Last night we had a rain gutter regatta at Scouts and had a great time making boats from foam and racing! The boys boats looked good but the hull was not very stable for the winds these boys kick up. I was thinking about parenting and that boat bieng blown down the gutter. When we are guiding our kids down the gutter of life, sounds romantic huh, if we correct them by blowing hard they run the risk of really hitting the side or tipping over, but if we gently correct them they are more likely to stay on course. That is as long as they are not in a boat that looks like a canoe with a sail as big as a billboard.
Also I hear last night that we are not losers but learners if we learn why we failed. Thanks Alan.
Later:)
